Woodland Wellbeing Sessions

Ethereal Flow Kids offers calm, creative Saturday woodland sessions where children slow down, breathe and reconnect — with themselves, with others and with nature.

Each session blends playful breathwork characters, storytelling, imagination and seasonal outdoor activities to help children build confidence, emotional regulation and a sense of belonging beneath the trees.

Surrounded by fresh air and the changing seasons, children are encouraged to move, explore and enjoy mindful moments in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

Designed for all children aged 4-10, and delivered in a warm, playful and inclusive way.

WHAT IS ETHEREAL FLOW KIDS?

A calm, creative woodland experience rooted in nature and imagination

Ethereal Flow Kids Saturday sessions take place outdoors in a fully enclosed woodland setting, where children are invited to slow down, breathe, explore and reconnect with the natural world around them.

Each session blends playful breathwork characters, storytelling, seasonal themes and nature-based activities. Children explore breathing, movement, imagination and creative expression in a way that feels joyful, grounding and gently energising.

Sessions follow a consistent and reassuring rhythm so children feel safe and settled, while still allowing space for curiosity, adventure and creativity each week. Children are always invited — never pressured — to take part in ways that feel comfortable for them.

They create time to pause, build confidence, develop emotional regulation tools and experience the changing seasons in a calm, supportive environment.

Wellbeing characters

How the sessions flow

Each week, a new wellbeing character is revealed, guiding children through a gentle, imaginative session that supports calm, confidence, and emotional wellbeing. Over time, these characters become familiar friends children can return to whenever they need them.

Throughout the programme, children are introduced to different wellbeing characters, each supporting a key area of emotional development, such as:

  • Tilly the Tortoise – calm and grounding
  • Bella the Butterfly – emotional awareness and release
  • Daisy the Dragon – confidence and inner strength

As part of our rolling programme, characters are revisited over time, allowing familiarity, repetition, and integration. This helps children feel comfortable with the stories and practices, and supports learning in a way that feels natural, unpressured, and enjoyable.

Over time, as children continue their journey through the programme, they are gently introduced to a wider range of wellbeing characters. Across the programme, children get to know 18 different characters, each linked to simple breathing techniques and age-appropriate tools for emotional regulation and wellbeing.

The characters make learning these skills fun, imaginative, and memorable. Through stories, play, movement, and creativity, children build a toolkit they can carry with them — learning how to pause, breathe, notice their feelings, and gently self-regulate in everyday moments.

This approach empowers all children to develop emotional awareness, confidence, and self-regulation in a way that feels positive, supportive, and enjoyable.

What Happens in a Session?

Each Ethereal Flow Kids session follows a gentle, predictable rhythm, helping children feel relaxed, safe, and at ease.

A calm arrival

Children are welcomed into the enclosed woodland setting and given time to arrive, explore their surroundings and gently settle before the session begins.  Clear woodland safety boundaries are established at the start of each session.

Mindful breathing

Simple, child-friendly breathing practices help children pause, slow down, and gently arrive in the moment.

Stories and gentle characters

Stories and gentle characters

Stories and gentle characters are woven through each session, guiding breathing, imagination, and moments of calm in a way that feels playful, reassuring, and familiar.

Sessions end calmly, helping children feel settled and ready for home time.

Activities are always age-appropriate, inclusive, and offered in a way that allows children to engage at their own pace.

Who the Sessions Are For

For all children aged 4-10

Ethereal Flow Kids sessions are suitable for primary-aged children from age 4-10 and are designed to feel welcoming, inclusive, and enjoyable for everyone. Sessions are split into age groups to ensure they are age appropriate and engaging.

Children don’t need any prior experience with mindfulness or relaxation. They simply come as they are. Some children enjoy joining in actively, while others prefer to listen, observe, or take things quietly — all of this is welcomed and respected.

The sessions are especially lovely for children who enjoy creativity, imagination, gentle movement, and calm spaces, but they are open to all children who would like to take part.  Sessions are suitable for children who are able to take part independently in a small group setting.

About Lucy

Created and led by Lucy

Ethereal Flow Kids is created and delivered by me, Lucy — a qualified primary school teacher with over 13 years’ experience working with children in school settings.

During my career, I’ve taught across a wide range of ages and roles, including working internationally and holding the position of Head of Pre-Prep, where I was responsible not only for teaching, but for the wellbeing, development, and early learning experiences of young children as a whole.

Working in leadership deepened my understanding of how children learn and regulate within busy school environments, and how essential it is to create spaces that feel calm, safe, and developmentally supportive — especially for younger children.

Alongside my teaching career, I’ve spent many years studying mindfulness, breathwork, and the science behind how children’s brains and nervous systems respond to rhythm, repetition, imagination, and calm. This understanding informs every Ethereal Flow Kids session, from the gentle pacing and familiar structure, to the use of stories, breathing, and creative activities that help children feel settled and supported.

Ethereal Flow Kids brings together my professional experience in schools, my leadership background, and my neuroscience-informed approach to wellbeing. The sessions are intentionally designed to work with children’s natural rhythms, offering calm, creativity, and connection in a way that feels natural and enjoyable.

I lead each session with warmth, care, and structure, creating an environment where children feel safe to arrive exactly as they are.
